CNC Machinist - Level 3
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, including Hurco, Toyoda, FADAL, and Takisawa.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to determine machining processes.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for machining operations.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, depth mics, inside micrometers, and CMMs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, adjusting programs and settings as needed.
- Perform manual machining operations, including band saws, milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and hones.
- Set work offsets, edge find, and indicate parts for alignment purposes.
- Adjust cutter compensation and tram holes for locating bores and reams.
- Read and verify G-code programs, identify tool numbers, and interpret basic G and M codes (G0, G80, G90, G91, M03, M04, M08, M09, M05, M00, M30).
- Understand G84 tapping parameters, circle and arc milling.
- Train and mentor junior machinists, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain detailed process documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with at least three years at Level 3 or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, materials, and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T symbols.
- Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to convert fractions to decimals and perform metric-to-inch conversions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience and skill level)
- Paid Time Off: Two weeks of paid time off plus eight paid holidays
